
About Us

The Cress Creek Garden Club of Naperville, Inc. was founded in 1975 by a group of neighbors and has grown to include members from Naperville and surrounding communities.
Our purpose is to;

encourage the beautification and general improvement of Naperville and the surrounding communities,
-
to stimulate gardening and artistic interest,
-
to develop horticultural knowledge,
-
to support conservation,
-
to provide scholarships for students,
-
and to support local charities.
The club is organized and operated exclusively for purposes to be beneficial, charitable, educational and useful to the community within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Every year the Cress Creek Garden Club awards several merit scholarships to high schoool and/or college students in the horticultural or environmental fields. Recipients are honored at a luncheon in June.

A regular outreach program conducted by dedicated members to bring cheers to others with a variety of garden related activities.

The Spring Fundraiser is a Plant Sale in May with Pre-orders taken in February/March.




The Club's Fall Fundraiser is held in November. It helps fund the scholarship program, donations to non-profit organizations in the area, and plantings at community gardens.

Awards

May 20, 2025 at the city council meeting
Naperville Mayor Scott Wehrli announced a proclamation for Cress Creek Garden Club's outstanding work on community gardens and volunteer. He also honored Cress Creek Garden Club's 50 year anniversary for 2025.
Cress Creek Garden Club won twelve Garden Clubs of Illinois awards in April 2026. This includes Garden club of the Year Award. Watch this video on our fantastic accomplishments.
